This application provides real-time simulation and control of a Remote Operated Vehicles (Spider2000 and CapJet) through VR4MAX VR software integrated with LabView. The ROV’s are used for trenching/burying of off-shore cables and pipelines or preparing tracks for them, and are operating on the seabed with limited to no vision.

The virtual model of- and the real ROV are synchronized in real time by over a 100 signals, so the virtual model can serve as the user interface to the ROV. The seabed is represented as a grid resulting from a survey. Designed for the Ormen Lange, Snŏvit LNG Project in the Barents Sea, it successfully operates in other area’s as well.
