Remote handling is the method by which manual tasks can be performed without any human involvement actually at the work site. It is the solution in situations where equipment or tasks have been put into an area that is or becomes inaccessible or unsafe for humans to enter. The need for remote handling will arise when the equipment needs to be maintained, modified or just operated to fulfil its task.
Traditional application areas for this type of technology are in the Nuclear, Underwater, Defence and Space sectors but there is an increase in the use of remote handling in the Medical sector and even in Manufacturing.
Together with Oxford Technologies Ltd., our consultancy partner, we are able to implement remote handling applications in these sectors. Tree C uses its VR4MAX technology, and a special version: VR4Robots to answer the challenging demands of this industry. For more detailed information about the technology used, we refer to the VR4Robots website.

VR4Robots enables you to define, visualize, simulate and interact with robots and manipulators in a virtual world. The environment may include digital mock-up’s based on 3D CAD data. Complex ‘Behaviors’, Cameras, animations, textured surfaces (bitmaps), movement constraints and collision properties can be added to the environment to improve realism.
